Another Ah Ha Moment

This morning while I was cleaning out my car I found a phone holder to assist in making videos. As I headed to the trash to throw it out I looked at it and had the thought, “Maybe I could just buy the piece that’s broken?” It was in that moment that I had an awareness. It is often in the most mundane circumstances that the awakenings occur. This is why awakening is a journey and not a destination. Awakening is done in the realm of the physical, in the human ordinary everyday experiences of daily life. If we seem to only become enlightened in our spiritual endeavors, only when we have lit the incense and when the crystal bowls chime, we miss the ability to be truly awake, alive and divine.

So back to my awakened moment. I realized that I try to save things, way past their expiration date. I try to fix what’s sometimes broken beyond repair and often I try to repurpose what is useless. Initially I thought this was a good idea. What’s the old saying, “Waste not want not”?And yet this “not wasting” was clogging up my life and stifling the flow of abundance, creativity and freedom and left me wanting financially, creatively and flexibly. This moment gave me life. It gave me breath and it gave me energy, strength and courage. One moment of awareness can do that. We don’t need hours upon hours of meditation and spiritual immersion, classes and abstinence. We need to be able to appropriately ingest and navigate what we do intake as awakenings and utilize it to its fullest.

This moment of clarity has inspired me to release lots of things and I feel free. I feel expansive and I feel excited for the first time in weeks. I feel excited to let go and be free. This letting go is a daily process of eliminating thoughts, behaviors and beliefs that no longer serve me. So it really doesn’t matter where I learned it or how long I’ve been doing it. All that matters is that I utilize the awareness to create change today and what I choose today will take care of tomorrow.

So my friend, let me ask you, what is it that you can let go of? What is it you’ve been trying to fix, repurpose or have kept way past its expiration date? Is it a belief, a relationship, a job, a habit? Feel free to borrow this awareness as your own now that you are reading it and let yourself be free.

Affirmation:

Today I give myself permission to let go of what has been holding me back, what has weighed me down and what has clogged the channels of creativity, abundance and freedom. I release my hold on it because I no longer hold onto what isn’t working, hasn’t worked or what is outdated and obsolete. I step into an irrevocable freedom and I celebrate all the good that flows as a result of my conscious choice. Amen.

Healing the Inner Child

As the time gets nearer for my retreat “Return to your Radiance” Healing the inner child before the holidays, I feel myself really connecting with my inner child. This awareness is showing me the many ways I have yet to grow up. It is bringing clarity to behavioral patterns that are in place that do not support what I say I want. It is showing me the incongruences that keep me from having the life I want. It is showing me how I unconsciously sabotage myself . What does it look like and how to address?

It shows up as
  • a desire to create more than execute
  • A want to get my own way more than make a way
  • procrastination
  • An increase in eating sugary foods
  • lack of focus
  • resistance to planning

How it shows up in each of our lives will be different. The point is she/he is there slowing eroding relationships and poisoning our ability to stand fully in our power. How do you change these behaviors? There are three essential keys to changing them and when practiced you will see amazing results.

  1. First Key Awareness
  • You can’t become aware if you’re not willing to pay attention to yourself.
  • Connect to yourself hold your left hand on your heart and your right hand on the hara-point just below the belly button then ask yourself  “what do I really need, desire and feel?” and then get quiet.

    2. Second Key Acceptance
  • You have to accept full responsibility for your life and all that has happened, all that is present in order to create a future you and a future unlike the present state of affairs.
  • Holding your right hand on your heart and your left hand onto of it repeat 3 X’s out loud and 3X’s silently “I deeply and unconditionally, Love, appreciate and accept myself exactly as I am.” Sit quietly in that space focusing on your heart. Breathe into your heart and out of the hara-point ,the space just below your belly button but above the sacral chakra. (If you don’t know the chakras please google or request a chakra chart from me)

     3. Third Key Acknowledgement
  • You have to acknowledge the behavior in the moment that it is happening or in the very least take an assessment of yourself daily to acknowledge whether your life is moving in the direction you desire or not.
  • Journal nightly and ask yourself the following 10 questions before you lay you down to sleep.
  1. How loving was I to myself today?
  2. Did I keep my commitments to myself?
  3. Did I follow or deviate from  plans I laid out for myself?
  4. Did what I did today bring me closer to my dreams?
  5. Have I exhibited this behavior before?
  6. Which of my choices supported what I said I want?
  7. Which of my choices not support what I said I want?
  8. How did I blame others for my choices today?
  9. How did I take full responsibility for my choices?
  10. What choices can I make tomorrow or now that will show self Love and are free of blame, shame and attack?

End this process using the second key. Doing this process nightly you will see amazing results!

These first three keys lay the foundation to support you in taking the next most appropriate step in creating an action plan for your desires. It helps clear the slate so that when you begin you are starting from a place of calm, self-love and inner cooperation. You are going to want to create a schedule, regimen, or system that allows for creativity and structure carved out in the way you can fully enjoy both aspect of yourself, the adult you and the inner child you. The inner child isn’t something we want to lock away, destroy or get ride of. They are a valuable and necessary aspect of our being that keeps us young, lively and joyful just because we are alive. Working together with our inner child we can live full abundant lives filled with joy and laughter.

Divine VS Animal Nature
This morning as I spent time in meditation my little furry baby joined me. Her name is Mila short for Miracle or Milagros in Spanish. Well Mila came beside me. Her little furry face rubbing my legs. I picked her up and began my breathing routine. Three breaths in, five breaths out. She jumped out from beside me and I opened my eyes, I let her go and closed them again. Three breaths in, five breaths out. She began to scratch the chair I was in. I picked her up, sat her next to me and again began my breathing. Three breaths in, five breaths out. Down she went again. We did this a few more rounds until I decided to hold her close to me. I held her close to my heart and I asked the Universe what the lesson is that she was teaching me. This was the awareness that came to me.
Our animal nature and our Divine nature exist side by side. The animal nature will always be fidgety and indecisive. Angry for some and aggressive in others. The animal nature will always want and need and perhaps fear. The animal nature plays the game of not enough, too much and mine verses yours. In all of that, “We” have choice. When our animal nature shows up we can either dismiss it or embrace it. When we embrace it with love and compassion we bring our Divine nature to it. When we hold it close to our hearts and cover it with unconditional love instead of judgment  we tame the beast and allow both to exist. We stop the separation of God and man and Become ONE SUBLIME ENERGY MANIFEST IN FLESH! We merge the two and our life becomes ONE with all that is. We transform the mundane moments into manifest Miracles. We no longer separate ourselves from the other. We no longer separate our Spirit from the flesh ; We Transcend the Whole body and Soul into Light and Love. We Love, not war. We make Peace, not anger. We make the ideal of Freedom and Justice for all a reality, not just an ideal.

So the next time your animal nature shows up in your lap, try embracing it as it is without judgement. Hold it in your arms and see what it is really asking for. Do you need more attention? Do you need more love? Do you need to be heard, seen or recognized? Then offer it to yourself. Offer yourself unconditional love in the moment and watch the Miracle of Transformation become an Ordinary experience, because it is.
